For apartments & communities
EV charging that works for every resident.
Amphive helps apartment communities and gated societies plan EV charging, working with residents, associations and property management from assessment to installation.
Infrastructure considerations
Parking and electrical considerations
Electrical capacity
Capacity of the building supply and whether a separate EV connection is advisable.
Parking layout
Allocated versus common parking, basement or stilt locations and cable routes.
Safety
Protection devices, earthing, ventilation and fire-safety considerations in covered parking.
Metering & billing
How each resident’s energy use is measured so common-area costs are shared fairly.
Shared vs individual
Shared versus individual charging arrangements
| Individual chargers | Shared chargers | |
|---|---|---|
| Who uses it | One resident, in their allotted slot | Multiple residents, booked or first-come |
| Electricity supply | Resident’s own meter or a sub-metered society supply | Society supply, usually with metering per user |
| Best for | Residents with allotted parking | Communities without allotted parking, or as a starting point |
| Things to agree | Cable route, cost of works, permission | Access rules, billing and maintenance |
Site assessment
How we assess a community
Initial discussion
Understand the community, parking and resident demand.
Site inspection
Inspect the electrical room, supply capacity and parking areas.
Options & proposal
Shared and/or individual options with a quotation and plan.
Approval & installation
Installation after approval by the association, followed by safety checks and handover.
Working with your community
Coordination with property management and associations
We help with
- Information for committee and general-body discussions
- Site visits coordinated with the facility team
- Clear documentation of the proposed works
- Answers to residents’ safety questions
The community decides
- Which arrangement suits the community
- Access, billing and usage rules
- Approval of works in common areas
- Timing of the installation
Usually yes. It needs permission from the association or society, a suitable electricity supply (your own meter or a metered society supply) and a safe cable route to your parking slot.
With an individual charger on your own meter, you do. With shared chargers, usage is normally metered per user so that common-area costs are shared fairly.
